Sierra Pacific Packaging has invested in a color managed workflow in our digital pre-press department staffed with industry experts to serve you.  We understand that superior finished quality and job-to-job consistency is born in this function.

Our prepress department is equipped with the newest versions of layout programs including: Adobe CS products, Quark and Artpro. We can turn around proofs quickly, make major and minor adjustments to art files as you request or custom color match to your supplied target sample.

The department is based around an EskoArtwork Systems Nexus Prepress Workflow powered by dual Apple Xserves and 4.5 Terabytes of on-line storage for job production. We utilize AWS’s Import and Processor RIP systems for both Raster and Vector workflows with ROOM (Rip Once, Output Many) Technology. This enables us to use the same file to generate our plates for press, color accurate  contract proofs and the PDF soft proofs we supply to you for sign-off yielding the ultimate accuracy.

We use a Hewlett Packard 5500 Imposition printer (600dpi) driven by our Nexus system to make low resolution proofs and press form proofs for quality control purposes. We also operate Epson Stylus 7800 and 9800 single sided, high-resolution color proofers utilizing Epson Ultrachrome inks for brilliant color proofs.

These proofers are driven by EFI Color Proof XF utilizing ICC profiling and color management for extremely accurate press color proofs. These proofs created from the same source file used to make the press plates, paired with highly-skilled pressman fuel the delivery of superior color consistency sheet-after-sheet and job-to-job.

Our Kodak Sword press plates are produced in-house using a Kodak Magnus VLF Direct-To-Plate multi-format system. Each plate is double checked for proper calibration insuring optimum color accuracy and limited dot gain.

Have a new product and need a mock-up?

Our engineering department can turn around a product mock-up in 24 to 48 hours. An important part of the carton design process is getting a sample into your hands to evaluate; whether you’re in need of a completely new package or modification made to an existing carton, our staff can respond very quickly.

Our folding carton and corrugated samples are machine-cut and hand-assembled from the material of your choice.  Our board substrates include SUS, SBS, CK1 and CCNB across a full range of mil thickness.  We can produce corrugated samples in B and E flutes. We maintain a full service engineering group equipped with an Artois CAD-driven sample-making tools to provide you with fast turn-around on your everyday business needs.
