Announcement
$100,000 given to Boys & Girls Club
A donation of $100,000 to the Boys & Girls Club's Oroville Teen Center was announced at the recent grand opening for the facility in the Southside Community Center. Sierra Pacific Packaging, a box firm at the Oroville airport, made the donation that took the center to the half-way point of its $2.3 million fundraising goal, which will be enough to operate for five years, according to Maureen Pierce, Boys & Girls Club executive director.
Sierra Pacific Packaging President Allen Ennis and CFO Vicki Hightower were present for the announcement. The firm makes beverage containers, including those for the Sierra Nevada Brewing Co., among other cardboard products.
